Prairie Road Roundabout (C.P. 22-47)
Update 9/22/23: This and the following week, the roundabout will be graded with gravel, and then the curb and gutter will be installed.
Update 9/21/23: Storm sewer work has been completed. Grading is on-going and should be completed early next week. Curb and gutter should be installed late next week or early the following week. The project should be open to traffic late October / early November.
Update 9/11/23: This week, work on the roundabout's grading and storm sewer installation will continue.
Update 8/25/23: The roundabout will continue to be graded and storm sewer is scheduled to be put in next week.
Update 8/21/23: The trees were removed and the street was reclaimed last week. The roundabout is scheduled to be graded this week.
Update 7/31/23: Construction is expected to begin early to mid August. Once a firm start date is determined that will be communicated on this site. There will be a posted detour route for this project along with a full road closure in the vicinity of the roundabout along Andover Boulevard, University Avenue and 157th Avenue. Local access will be maintained at all times for residents living along Prairie Road between Andover Boulevard and 157th Avenue, though access will only be from 157th Avenue for properties north of 151st Lane, and from the south from Andover Boulevard for properties south of 151st Lane.
In conjunction with the Fields of WInslow Cove development, a roundabout will be constructed at the intersection of Prairie Road and 151st Lane. This will be the first roundabout constructed in the City. The project is being funded by the developer that is constructing homes on the east and west side of Prairie Road. A portion of Prairie Road will be fully closed near the roundabout during construction. This will allow the project to be completed quicker and more efficiently.
