We've become a THROUGH street for distracted drivers. The speeds reach over 50mph. And the stop sign @ the T is HARDLY utilized. I've been in contact with the sheriff department, who sent an officer for 1 afternoon. I was not provided the electronic speed marking sign as promised, OR the trees trimmed near the MPH & Slow Children @ play sign. at the corner of drake/andover boulevard. Please note - the issue arises from both incoming & outgoing drivers. There is SIX children under 10 on Drake St NW. These numbers are rising, and we are made to keep our kids in the locked fenced backyards, and not to enjoy playtime in one another front yard properties due to the dangers. I've researched. There is REMOVABLE speed bumps, which can be taken down before winter (to lesson the issue with plowing). Husband and I are HAPPILY on-board to contribute to the cause, fiscally if it slows down drivers and saves a life. 3 would suffice for our street - to cover both incoming & outgoing traffic.
