Due to the warm weather to start this winter, crews have just started flooding the outdoor ice rinks. This process takes almost two weeks to build good skateable ice if the weather cooperates. Due to the late start and short season, only the main hockey rinks will be flooded. City Hall Complex, Crooked Lake School, Prairie Knoll Park, and Hawkridge Park. Hawkridge will have ice but there will not have the portable warming house brought in due to the short season.
We should have skateable ice sometime during the week of January 15th if the weather stays favorable. Check the City of Andover website and the Facebook page for updates on opening.
