A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for potential heavy, accumulating snow and very gusty winds through Wednesday morning. Much of this snow will fall this afternoon through the night. Expect poor road conditions this evening during the heavy snowfall. All available Public Works Staff will start after midnight to fully plow all streets and cul-de-sacs, with two staff working on opening trails and sidewalks around the schools. The snow is expected to continue until midday on Wednesday, and we expect to be back in very early Thursday morning to do another full clean up. Please limit travel this evening and keep all vehicles and garbage cans in the driveway and off the street to allow plows to safely operate.
Parking violations are enforced by the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office. Staff does leave warning tags on vehicles not following the parking restrictions, and reports repeat offenders or vehicles posing safety risk to the Sheriff’s Office for enforcement. As a reminder: Ordinance No. 218 – It shall be unlawful for any person to park on any City street or right-of-way or on the traveled portion of the road or to obstruct the flow of traffic, unless for an emergency between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., November 1st to April 15th. It is also unlawful to park on any City street after a 2 inch or more snowfall until such time the snow has been plowed from said street. Plows often make multiple passes to clear snow form a street, so please refrain from moving cars into the roadway until all snow removal operations are complete.
