2024 Street Reconstruction (C.P. 24-02)

Each year the roadway segments that are in the most need of repair throughout the City are reconstructed as a portion of the City of Andover's street reconstruction program. The street reconstruction projects are identified in the City's Capital Improvement Plan. Scheduled for reconstruction in 2024 are the following developments generally located in the southwest portion of the City: Dehn's 1st and 2nd Additions, 7th Avenue Frontage Road, Andover West, Lund's Round Lake Estates, and Indian Meadows 2nd Addition (location maps - 2 pages).

The project will consist of reclaiming the existing bituminous roadway, shaping the existing gravel, constructing concrete curb and gutter where there is bituminous curb or no ditches, minor storm sewer improvements / repairs, and constructing a new bituminous surface. A sidewalk will also be constructed along the east side of 7th Avenue from the 7th Avenue Frontage Road south to the signalized intersection at 143rd Avenue & 7th Avenue.

The project will be funded from the City's Road & Bridge Fund, with 25% of the total street related project costs assessed to the benefiting properties as identified in the City's Roadway Reconstruction Assessment Policy.

A neighborhood meeting will be held with affected residents in early December once estimated costs have been prepared. Impacted residents will be invited to this meeting via US mail.  We anticipate that construction will begin in late April / early May of 2024, with the project being completed by late summer 2024.
