Address Numbers

Using Large Numbers
Large, easy-to-read address numbers on your home can help save precious minutes when your life or property is in jeopardy. Emergency vehicles can find your home much faster if they don't have to slow down and shine a spotlight to see address numbers. To see how readable your home's address numbers are, try reading them at night from your car.

If you have to squint or get out of the car to read the numbers - replace them. Not all address numbers sold in stores are large enough to meet city code. City ordinance requires that house numbers must be at least three inches high and 1/2 inch wide. Address numbers must be placed near the front door and should not be obstructed by shrubs.
